On June 21, 2014, pianist Dianius Vaicekonis brought to Zasliai, Lithuania, the birthplace of Godowsky and also the birthplace of Mr. Vaicekonis, a historic event hosted by the Cultural Department of Kaisiadorys (regional center) of the municipality.
The event began with a ceremony unveiling a plaque of Godowsky, and continued with a lecture by Mr. Vaicekonis, a recital by students of a local music school, and concluded with a recital by Mr. Vaicekonis of Godowsky’s monumental works.
